What is Hemp?

Hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) is a botanical class of cannabis explicitly cultivated for industrial or medical use. Cannabis Sativa, or Hemp, contains equal to or less than 0.3% tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) by dry weight. THC is the cannabinoid responsible for the psychoactive effect or “high” sensation one acquires when inhaling or ingesting Cannabis Indica, a plant with more than 0.3% THC. Hemp has a wide variety of uses due to its fibrous properties, and high concentration of cannabinoids that help bring homeostasis to the mammalian Endocannabinoid System. Roughly 40% of the hemp plant contains Cannabidiol (CBD). With such diverse properties, Hemp has been used over the millenniums in various cultures throughout history.

What is the Difference Between Hemp & Marijuana?

Industrial Hemp and Marijuana may seem similar when you look at them. Still, they’re very different in appearance and botanical content. Hemp is a variety of Cannabis Sativa that does not contain psychoactive properties like THC (which gives people the feeling of being high). In contrast, Marijuana comes from a particular subspecies called Cannabis Indica or Cannabis Ruderalis, which contains higher tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) levels than Hemp does.

Furthermore, Industrial Hemp is always one strain of Cannabis Sativa. At the same time, Marijuana can be another subspecies, such as Cannabis Sativa, Cannabis Indica, or even Cannabis Ruderalis. One significant difference between these two types is how they were genetically bred. Industrial hemp strains are typically taller, with long, strong stems and few to no flowering buds. In contrast, marijuana strains grow shorter and bushier with many flowering buds.

In the USA, the legal definition of “industrial hemp,” per Section 7606 of the Agricultural Appropriations Act of 2014, is“INDUSTRIAL HEMP — The term ”industrial hemp” means the plant Cannabis sativa L. and any part of such plant, whether growing or not, with a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol concentration of not more than 0.3 percent on a dry weight basis.”

Hemp and HMB™’s Products

Hemp Mind & Body™ has adopted a philosophy bolstering the highest level of quality and safety when producing health formulas. Research clearly shows that the less the plant is denatured or manipulated, the more beneficial the plant is. Synthetic flavoring, natural flavoring, and other fillers only degrade the quality and efficacy of the product. At Hemp Mind & Body, we strive to maintain the natural constituency of each product without adding anything that may provoke an adverse health response. Toxins plague our society today, and the immunocompromised and chronically ill suffer when chemicals are added to any consumable compound or formulation.

HMB™’s testing process checks hemp oil at three distinct points of the product development cycle to ensure proper and consistent cannabinoid levels. This testing is in place to protect the consumer. Our Hemp is certified organic and is free of herbicides, pesticides, and chemical fertilizers. We also carefully inspect our oil after harvest for anything that can negatively impact the quality of our products. HMB™ has obtained two ISO certifications, is certified Kosher and allergen-free, and is developed in a cGMP-certified facility, which means that it’s a standard created to guarantee that every pharmaceutical company is producing safe medication. Complete panel testing is performed on each batch, including testing for mycotoxins, microbials, residual solvents, heavy metals, and other potentially harmful substances.

HMB’s commitment to setting the standard enables us to produce top-quality finished products for our consumers consistently. Our manufacturers are registered with the State of California Department of Public Health, Food and Drug Administration. They must adhere to the strict regulations the department puts forth. Our formulators also require full-panel Certificates of Analysis for all raw materials used in HMB™ products to ensure they have been tested for safety before integration into the finished formulas.

Our commitment to you and your health has driven us to develop the strictest laboratory testing standards in the industry. We ensure that you will be satisfied with your products — this time and every time.

Find Your Perfect HMB™ Hemp Product

HMB™ products are developed using specific herbal formulations that have been passed down through family lineage for centuries and were once exclusive to the royal families of East Asia. What makes the formulas unique and designed for true healing is not the individual herbs but the wisdom of combining those herbs. Combine that with the unique extraction methods to create a balanced formula that works optimally with your body.

It is vital to understand that the best ingredient in the world can be harmful and toxic to the body if it is not absorbed. One of the primary reasons HMB™ formulas have been highly regarded and preserved over the centuries is that the body absorbs them completely. Because the body can absorb them completely, there is no excess toxic build-up or adverse side effects. These formulas completely revitalize and enliven the cells by increasing circulation and removing blockages, enabling all organs to function at their optimal level, leading to the most youthful and healthy condition possible.

Identifying the right product for you can be a confusing process. The upper end of the therapeutic window for CBD is 1500mg/day, which is safe and productive. Studies outline dosing strategies for different health conditions. It is essential to start slowly, proceed cautiously, and find the “sweet spot” that works best for each individual. There is no cookie-cutter solution considering the rate of metabolism, the severity of illness, body weight, genetic factors, environmental exposures, exercise, or lack thereof, and desired health goals.
